Proofreading and Writing with Artificial Intelligence Workshop

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen linguistic and digital competencies and support professionals in adapting to emerging developments in media and artificial intelligence applications, the Continuing Education Center at GMAI LLC. (GMAI CEC) organized a training workshop on Saturday, December 20, 2025, titled:

“Proofreading and Writing with Artificial Intelligence.”

The two-hour workshop was delivered by Mr. Hossam Mostafa Ibrahim, journalist, AI trainer, and Arabic language expert at UN Women. The session addressed several core topics designed to strengthen participants’ writing and proofreading skills, including introducing the concept and dimensions of proofreading, exploring both online and offline proofreading methods, and highlighting the role of artificial intelligence in supporting language review and editing processes.

The workshop also examined the capabilities and limitations of AI tools in understanding language and emphasized the importance of maintaining human oversight in proofreading practices. In addition, participants were introduced to best practices for producing accurate and well-edited texts and received hands-on training on how to use AI tools effectively to improve linguistic accuracy and writing quality.

This workshop forms part of the Center’s broader commitment to supporting the development of advanced linguistic and digital skills and promoting the responsible integration of AI technologies in professional writing and editing practices.
