The two-hour session was delivered by Mr. Ahmed Magdy, Director of Oryx Translation Center, who brings over 20 years of professional experience working with local and international institutions. The session explored several key themes, including distinguishing between common misconceptions surrounding artificial intelligence and its practical realities, understanding the capabilities and limitations of AI-assisted translation tools, and adopting professional strategies for their effective use in translation practice.
The workshop also introduced a structured five-step framework for managing AI-supported translation processes and provided practical guidance on crafting effective prompts to ensure accurate and high-quality outputs. In addition, it highlighted common challenges translators face when using AI technologies and strategies for avoiding them.
