Digital Safety Fundamentals and Data Protection Workshop

Digital Safety Fundamentals and Data Protection Workshop

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen digital awareness and promote safe engagement in online environments, the Continuing Education Center at GMAI LLC. (GMAI CEC) organized a training workshop on Saturday, December 6, 2025, titled:

“Digital Safety Fundamentals and Data Protection.”

The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ awareness of digital risks and equip them with practical skills to protect their personal data in increasingly complex digital environments.

The workshop was delivered by Ms. Omnia Taha, journalist and researcher specializing in digital safety. The session addressed several key topics essential for building a secure digital culture, including clarifying the distinction between cybersecurity and digital safety, as well as identifying the most common online threats affecting users today.

The workshop also introduced practical strategies for protecting personal and sensitive data, securing social media accounts against unauthorized access, and developing strong and secure password practices. It included an interactive hands-on component during which participants applied these protection techniques through guided practical exercises.

This workshop forms part of the Center’s broader commitment to strengthening digital literacy and equipping individuals with the competencies required to navigate emerging technological challenges while promoting the safe and responsible use of digital technologies.
